Honeymoon Packing Guide for Grooms
Life gives you plenty of celebratory moments, but your honeymoon is the one time that you get to celebrate finding the love of your life with the love of your life. As the groom, it’s easy for you to get wrapped up in making sure that your bride has everything she needs to have an amazing time. But it’s important to make sure that you have everything that you need, too. Here are four things to remember to bring when packing for your honeymoon.
Weather appropriate clothes
This might seem silly to mention, but it’s important to be mindful of the climate that you’re traveling to. Be sure to check the weather for the area that you’re staying and pack accordingly.
For a tropical location, plan to pack shorts, sandals, loose-fitting t-shirts, and maybe a hat or two. If you’re going to a colder climate, you’ll want to bring jackets, long pants, warm socks, and plenty of clothes that you can layer over each other. No matter where you go, it’s always a good idea to be ready for a chilly or rainy day. It’s also wise to research what not to wear in the country you’re going to.
Although you want to be prepared, you don’t want to overpack. A good rule of thumb is to pack one outfit for every day that you’ll be gone, plus one extra outfit. Additionally, make sure you have pajamas, swim trunks if you’re doing water activities, and extra socks and underwear.
Electronics
In this day in age, you can’t go anywhere without your phone. Especially if it’s your main tool for taking pictures and videos. Don’t forget to bring your charger, a portable charger, and an electrical adapter if you’re traveling abroad. Although it might be tempting to bring your laptop, it’s probably a good idea to leave it at home. This is a once in a lifetime experience and you don’t want to waste a moment of it by trying to get a little work done. It will also give you one less thing to keep track of.
Grooming products
Don’t assume that the place you’re going to will have all the personal hygiene products you’ll need. Bring a travel-sized toiletry kit that includes shampoo and conditioner, face wash, and body wash. Also, remember to bring a razor and other shaving tools to keep your facial hair well-groomed. Obviously don’t forget about the essentials, toothpaste, and mouthwash to keep your mouth minty fresh, and lotion to keep your skin moisturized. You and your new bride will be spending a lot of time together, so you want to make sure that you look and smell amazing.
Medicine and Health Care Products
Illnesses on vacations do happen, even when it’s your honeymoon. The key is to be prepared for the unexpected. Bring pain killers, aloe vera, cold medicine, and your EpiPen–if you have one, just in case either you or your wife end up not feeling well during your trip. It is also wise to bring some of the things that could prevent sickness and injury as well, such as sunblock, hand sanitizer, and insect repellant.
Also, don’t forget to bring items that you use every day, such as your glasses or contacts, your inhaler if you need it, and any prescribed medication that you take. If it’s something you need on a regular day at home, then it’s probably a good idea to bring it on the honeymoon with you.
